Destroyed an entire large Jamaica cake today on my mountainous ride, yummm, tasty stuff!

What do you all eat when your in the saddle for extended periods?

Bananas and cereal bars are getting old, I need to look at cakes:laugh:
 
Cereal Bars, Bananas, Flap Jacks are my favourites on solo rides on group rides we usually end up in a cafe; Fruit Scones are usually favourite but I've also partaken in Millionaire Shortbread, Bacon & Egg Doublers, Egg rolls and Sticky Toffee Pudding & Ice Cream. On rides where I've been interested in performance (Sportifs, TT's) I've also used energy gels & bars.

Yea I have a different approach to appetite for performance, I stick to easily digestible things, mainly powders and fluids with gel sachets. I get my carbs in before I ride and just try and maintain blood sugar, hydration and electrolytes throughout a ride. For long distances of 70 miles plus I will stop somewhere to grab some real food and a redbull.
For short rides and quick training rides I just eat whatever is in the cupboard that looks stodgy.
