Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
As shown in the "what have you fettled thread" my hand is healing. No cycling for a while though as I doubt I can pull the brakes sufficiently for an emergency stop.

So what happened?
Events leading to the ruccus were a little hazy to be honest. I had difficulty breathing afterwards and a full on hypo had me floored but my eldest cleared things up.
According to her, as I was messing about with Tara, winding her up etc as one does, Molly started barking at me. I barked back at Molly, as one does :shy: and Molly got very aggressive. Not seeing this, I carried on barking at her like an eejit and she eventually lost her rag and lunged for me. Tara immediately sprung to action and defended me.
Like an eejit, I dove in and tried to break them up. Eventually we succeeded by Pam dragging Molly off Tara while I punched her (Molly) in the head in an effort to claim my hand back from her gob.

Nothing like this has ever happened in the 4 years we've had the dogs apart from minor scuffles. Tara's just a grumpy bugger at times while Molly is hyperactive.
It's given me a new look on things. Cute and fluffy they may be, but if they turn, dogs are bloody strong. Stronger than you'd think.
Tease with caution!

My hero

We have an appointment with a friend of Pams who used to train dogs for the police. Hopefully some good will come of it.

Oh dear - it needs sorting ASAP - a colleague's husband got his arm badly mauled by their dog - just turned, ate him, then carried on as if nothing happened. Unfortunately, it was curtains for the dog.

Bad mistake.

I hope neither are allowed contact with children.

I'm not sure Molly would get another opportunity with me, sorry.

Tara's fine with kids. Been around them her whole life. Even with very young kids she rolls on her back to have her tummy rubbed. She's never bitten anyone in anger.
I'm getting her trained as she gets a bit growly when other dogs get too close which can then set the other dogs off. That's her only fault.

Molly is another story. She's Pams dog and has had basically f all training since birth. Pams eldest tends to look after her and he's a world class nob.
Molly has crossed the line with me and I've banned her from my home. If things improve from training then I might consider letting her back in on a trial basis but I'm doubtful.
If I had my way I'd have the bugger put down.

That's what happened with Molly.
I came back into the living room covered in blood and plasters and sat down to recover.
Molly does no more than grabs her ball, walks over to me and drops it at my feet expecting me to play fetch with her.
The nerve of the little sod!

I'd have to agree.

In my admittedly limited experience I beleive that sadly that's down to how she's been socialised and trained and she's learnt that that sort of behaviour is acceptable and that it's a form of play. From your post above it would seem as though there has been a lack of appropriate training. Remedial training should hopefully sort this, but it takes a lot of time and consistency on the part of the owner and an acceptance that there may be triggers it would be wise to avoid for a while.

She probably needs to be assessed by a training expert.

As much training is needed for the humans as is needed for the dogs. I learnt this very early on with my shepherd X husky, and have continued with the lurchers.
The dog was goaded into play fighting by the human, and responded accordingly. A lack of understanding of the dog.
Knowing when and how to play varies from one dog to the next, as does knowing when to stop.

If it was a completely unprovoked attack then the dog would be off to the vet.

Very true.
The trainer we're off to see states that he does not train the dogs, but the owners so they can train the dogs.
As long as you appreciate that & do not take it as an insult, there are very few bad dogs in this world, but there are a huge amount of bad owners.

Dogs are pack animals they have to have an hierarchy in the pack, it is clear that Tara sees you as top dog, it is also clear that neither Molly or yourself do, that is the root cause of this.
