so, new to the area and looking for jobs with enthusiasm fading fast,

any advice?

been looking online for various jobs and sending off a number of applications.

need to print some CV's and go visit job agencies even though I've never really had much of any use out of them in the past.

thanks

IIRC agencies now require that you are either a limited company or you use their 'pet' payroll company to process your pay. It is worth reading the small print carefully as there may be confusion as to who you actually work for, the client, the agency or the payroll company. Also they can claim ownership of any creative work you do while you are in 'their employ'.

There was a thread about it recently, may have been moved to the business forum.

I start volunteering at Middlethorpe Hall at the end of the week. I'm going to be doing two days a week there. I have also just sent off an application to Tesco for a part-time role while I improve my plant knowledge. I think it is a case of just finding anything at the moment to tide you over.

I'm really interested it learning how to be an Agronomist but looks like I missed out on the graduate roles for this year, as I finished my degree a bit late. I'm keeping my eyes and ears open though, see how it goes.

I was volunteering in the woodwork shop at my local Arts On Prescription centre before I went off immobile. Now 14 weeks later I went back yesterday to see how the land lies and to let them know I was getting better and should return soon.
The manager told me that shortly after I left the woodwork teacher left and so no one is teaching the woodwork class.
The first thing I said was " I'd be interested in taking over the job...."

Just had a phone call from Lavender company after I rang them up this morning. The lady on the phone said the position had been filled this morning but if the lady they had taken on didn't work out after her trial today they would call me back.

Anyway the chap who called me just now seemed a bit rude and talked to me like I was a small child after I had said that I had just finished my degree, said that he had had 100's of applicants, and did I know that it would take 25 minuets to get to the centre. Anyway I have an interview on Friday with them but thinking of not calling him back and cancelling the interview as he was so rude.

It sounds to me like the place has a high staff turnover and not my thing. Oh and I didn't have to fill in an application form to get an interview.

I had someone at an agency argue with me that I wasn't qualified for the Graphic Design position as I needed a degree related to the subject.

my degree? Ba Hons Graphic Design.

Just got an email from my lecturer at Askham Bryan, she said that the lavender place can be a bit funny. Think I will avoid them as he seemed very rude on the phone.
