You can't possibly blame JT for the misdeeds of his parents, Greedo.

And how on earth is it newsworthy that he allegedly had an affair with the ex-grilfriend of an ex-team mate? That doesn't make him a scumbag. It doesn't even make him unusual in most workplaces.

And why is he a role model? He doesn't put himself forward as one, that's something that journalists (who set the benchmark for philandering and dishonesty) try to impose on him.

Exactly. Greedo would make a good journalist for The Sun.

Why are we bothered?

I don't see why details of this guys private life are 'in the public interest'. So he's a bit of a moron, but if you walk down a busy street you will pass any number of wife beaters, crooks and bullies. The only difference is you haven't seen their face on the telly.

My understanding was that at the time of the affair she was the current girlfriend of a current team mate.....

That's my part time job xx(

Of course you can't blame him for his parents but it's a hell of a good benchmark. Same as when some people blame the parents of a wayward child.

It's also not an "allegedly" as he took out an injunction to stop him being named. Not the act of an innocent man.

But my point is he is a scumbag as I would anyone, who was coming in to work everyday acting as everything is normal while shagging one of his workmates girlfriends. He not only is a normal employee he's the captain of the team.

Those of us who have young kids who are into football are bothered.

I know Terry is no different to the rest of us, but our 7-year-old reads everything he can about football at the moment, and the sports pages are full of this story. I'd rather avoid him asking me to explain what it all means.

It's disappointing.

That's my point, it's not actually news (as defined by 'in the public interest') so there is no good reason why it should be across all the newspapers, and as you say being presented to your 7-year-old.
