Its always a good idea when you are on a charity bike ride to plough straight through a pedestrian crossing when the light is red, and then laugh about it as you ride off. And when challenged by yours truly, it's an even better idea not to apologise but to instead respond with "get over it".

Thats what I witnessed on Sunday.

I mean, why raise money to help children, and nearly take out an entire family.

What a complete ****er! You should be really proud of yourself.

Did he nearly take out an entire family?

No doubt you're exaggerating about the family part as it aids your story but regardless I would have replied the same as the guy.

I run red lights, not all the time but when I'm 100% sure it is safe to do so. I cycle in the countryside as I cycle for training purposes and hate having to stop and start. I don't come across many red lights but the ones I do are not at busy junctions like you get in the city.

Why is it cyclists give out so much abuse anyway? Swearing at motorists whenever they feel they've done something wrong, shouting at other cyclists like the moral police. When you're walking do you approach and shout at other pedestrians who cross before the green man? I bet when you're driving and see a car do something dangerous you don't honk your horn pull next to him and shout out your window either. You only need to spend 5 mins on YouTube to see just how irrational and antagonising so many cyclists are and it doesn't come as a surprise when some end up getting a slap.

Corner of Windsor by the river, about 11am, very busy, no exaggeration required. There were actually many more people than I have stated. It was packed.

I'm coming round to the idea of preferring not to be referred to as a Cyclist anymore but as a Person on a Bike which includes the human factor into the activity and sets me aside from the fanatical types.
