Good idea. I have all of next week free so I could bung something together, just to keep the crowds interested.

Good stuff. Look forward to it.
Forget about the junction stuff.

'fraid not Matthew. The whole point of bikeability training is to use real life, on road, practical situations, not video footage of how other people do it. As a national standard instructor trainer, I would be horrified if I came across an instructor using video footage to teach bikeability.
How about if they used footage on how not to ride?

Had a lot of cycling instructors from across the world contact me about Silly Cyclists and how they use the clips to show their students on how not to cycle.

Becasue it's a practical course based on observing achievement of outcomes, not sitting in a classroom watching videos. The whole point of the course is to get out and do it in real life, and discuss how the individual riders could improve what they are doing, and what they are doing really well.

When I did my bikeability training, we sat in the classroom for about quarter of an hour and were showed drawings of junctions. The tutor then drew lines on the drawing of where we should be positioning ourselves. When outside, we selected a junction similar to the one pictured and the tutor explained what the best lines were to do again and illustrated when to move into primary.

I am thinking of making some videos showing how to negotiate certain junctions. This has come from lots of other threads with people not knowing what to do at certain junctions and how to get around them (especially RABs).
These would obviously be open to critisizm and opinions and I would try different techniques to see which is best. I might even learn something myself.

So who would be interested in them? I am hoping to make a whole series aimed at giving cyclists a first person view of how to be defensive and safe around junctions (as that is where the most accidents happen). The junctions would be mixed of course, some small and some large.

Ive had less confrontational incidents in 3 years than i have read from you in 3 months, so i dont think your the one to be teaching others

Mr T, I do rather think the poster above has a point.

Youthful enthusiasm has much in its favour.

Youth is a wonderful thing and many of us would trade almost anything for another turn... But it is dominated by young people, who may be more in awe of their own powers of perception than others are. A young man who shouts "Twenty!" and reads number plates as people overtake him quite inoccuously in a '20' zone might helpfully save his energy for other things. That film you made of a ride was charming. Some of your shouty vigilante vids are not charming.

The Internet is not a democracy and you can do what you want. But I would counsel against this.

What if he has ridden more than you in 3months than you have in 3 years? Gotta take things into perspective.
Perspective ,, is that where you get a small cow and a big cow but they are the same size coz the small one is far away (aka father ted),.

Leave teaching vids the experts not the self appointed , and the cows to the farmers.

Not a chance in hell I would be taking cycling advice from videos produced by you Matthew (I will probably watch them, because like passing a car crash, I can't help but look out of morbid curiosity), but then I am not everyone else, do as you wish and good luck to you!
