Now, really, I would expect more from the Police. But when I just cycled past two officers with speed guns at the side of the road, when they noticed I was a cyclist, they very obviously didn't bother seeing how fast I was going.

I'm disgusted - I should be treated the same as everyone else. I could very well have been cycling over 30mph. Panting and wheezing is, obviously, a sign of a very well tuned body.

haha. Just kidding. I asked if I was speeding and apparently I wasn't. Just wish I noticed them earlier, I'd of put my foot down. Unlike that Mazda driver who had he noticed them earlier probably would of lifted his foot up

We should start a rumour. Gatso flashes give you ball cancer or something. That'll spook a few stupid people.

Quality .

My morning commute involves Bushy Park, which has a 20mph limit. There's always a police person in a car at the end gate but my route turns off a quarter of a mile before him (I know he's there cos I used to be one of those 'car commuters'). I'm not saying that speeding is ok but I'll quite happily overtake a car or two if the wind will allow, might have to ride right up to PC speedgun one day, just to calibrate the phone app

And aren't you lucky...there's even a, really really boring, video to accompany this tale

Although, "I can see your balls" probably makes better watching. haha

Speed limits don't apply to bikes - hard luck.

Actually. They probably didn't speed gun me, for H&S reasons. I was going sooooooooo fast that I'd of probably broken the speed gun....and it'll have blown up and hurt them.Yes...that makes a lot more sense

Same here - the Police were doing lighting checks and didn't stop me.... in fact they always wave me through bike checks.

I have the impression that, at least in Royal Parks, the police there ''believe'' - or at least claim - that speed limits do apply to bikes. Perhaps the legal powers are different in Royal Parks - however, I know of no case where liability has been established in a court of law. Which makes me wonder, if they're trying to enforce non-existent laws, whether that qualifies as a form of harassment.

I heard there is some bi-law...possibly some rubbish the queen wrote, I dunno.

I got stopped last year by "gatso cop", 42mph entering a 30 zone. Got a bollocking on road safety stuff lol

LOOOL

. Obviously, I don't condone speeding.

Is it wrong that it seems funny and acceptable while cycling? meh.

I shall publish my next speed check and location, you are all invited.....anyone not exceeding 30mph will get a ticket for some obscure riding to slowly law and holding up traffic....Anyone exceding 30mph can get booked for wanton and furious pedal cycling! Oh and I can turn you all over because ALL cyclists are obviously all sandal wearing hippy pot heads (so I am reliably informed)!
