.........clearly two distinct lines of thought here Fossy ...........

If more adequate penalites for such inattentiveness were more regularly sought and meated out then perhaps some drivers would take more care. Having said this, yesterday, I was twice nearly knocked down at traffic lights when crossing by cyclists deliberately riding through red lights . Maybe I have to get a cheap golfing umbrella to stick through their wheels to get them to stop :hello: .

I agree, a few examples need to be made. Once every driver knows someone who knows someone who got the book thrown at them, they might start to think more (and I mean in particular those people who wouldn't dream of breaking the law, until they get in their cars, whereupon it's fine to do as you please, because you're in a hurry/busy/much more important than everyone else).

Of course, there will always be those who don't give toss at all, but I think there are far more of the former sort, who simply don't think about the potential of their actions.

And yes, I'd include cyclists!

I think my injury is ok, apart from a sprain, cuts and bruising soon to be lol, I will have an xray to be safe tommrow, im not after money for injury just money for my bike.

What about inconvenience, bus fares or other transport cost while you are bikeless?

Injury claims are not always about the injury itself, but the costs that the injury incurs-why should you be out of pocket?
