I saw a cool t-shirt once that you might find useful if he asks again - it said something like -

NO - I will not mend your computer for you!

I reckon I could do with that! I'm normally very cagey about telling people what I did in a previous life. Mention you were a programmer and everyone suddenly thinks you know everything there is to know about PCs and sodding MS Windows!

You're not dismissing the daughter, though!

I know he has a daughter but I haven't met or even seen her. So I figured I should keep my options open. Long shot I know. Given the breeding stock she probably come from, it's probably best written off though!

My niece and her husband are loaded and I go over to house/doggie sit while their away on holiday and I get treated like another one of their employees it’s a job and your getting paid for it that’s the way they look at it

You'd win your bet... he's Essex born and bred.

And, yes, I agree swee'pea, anyone that treats anyone like that is an arse.

In all my years of being self-employed, I have never had anyone treat me like that... oh, I lie, once; a partner in a firm of solicitors on Kingsway. It just don't get it. It lacks a very basic humanity.

As Davyo says, we're not all like that.

And partner solicitors in a London firm - what did you expect?

I hate rudeness:angry: Didn't you tackle him about it?

When people realise I own the busness their attitude often changes but it's too late for me, the gits!

I'm with richP. Your friend must've been mortified. Tot up an enormous bill - making sure that the time/labour is rated as a top-class consultancy fee - and take your neighbour for a pint.

If you have setup his laptop on his wireless network then you must have the WEP key to hand...

I'd be sat outside his front door leeching all his bandwidth if I was you.

(That is assuming you also have a laptop)
