Just got called a self-gratification artist!

Not sure why, but just got called a self-gratification artist by an old bloke in a 4x4! I signalled to turn right, safely eased across to take the right fork and then got abused as the bloke came past on the inside. He was really angry and have no idea why. Still, he was even angrier a little while after, when I took a short cut, caught him up, called him a daffodil and told him to fark off! Oh, so satisfying!

If it was me that had a chance to ask the reason of the abuse, I would have asked why, in calm words.
When I get shouted at, drivers are away like a flash, never had the actual chance to ask why.
Nevertheless, I have the feeling that if we ride correctly but still get abuse, it is because drivers feel slowed down.
Today I get beeped at while riding slowly up a hill: the road was quiet and wide, he could (and did) pass me no problem, still he had to beep me into the door zone.
