Did you pass? ;)

Anyway, hopefully you've got your feet up and Pete making you cups of tea....;)

How cruel of them to call it dyslexia. Could they not have come up with an easy name?

Better to know and take steps to overcome problems arising. My youngest suffers but I was never tested and was just thought of as thick.

It was tough for daughter in junior school as all you seem to do in learn spelling and times tables (neither of which she or I can do). But by secondary school she can work out any sum in her head without tables and is getting around spelling problems.

I'm profoundly dyslexic, got caught at a young age so went to a school with a great understanding of dyslexia and i got extra help. It still affects me in everyday life with speech and writing/reading etc..

Three hours sounds a bit long - certainly don't think my friend's son would sit for 3 hours doing a dyslexia test - that presumably isn't easy in the first place. He's now at secondary school and his parents are in the process of getting him some kind of translation dictaphone to help him with his school work.

One of the teachers at my daughter's school is dyslexic which initially surprised me but the teacher seems to manage fine.

You've got to love that someone posts they have had an exam to find out if they have a condition or not and half way down the thread every one starts taking the piss and telling jokes about said condition :laugh:

Gromit knows she has dyslexia, I expect this is to allow the institution to assess the level. And being a mature student, I expect she's heard every lame joke about it there is. Especially jokes that mostly depend on mistakes nothing like those someone dyslexic would make.
