The racing version of the crud catcher ones. Well it was those or a more expensive set I couldnt find anywhere.

Bit fiddly and annoying tbh. They barely fit on with the pannier rack at the back. I'm wondering how they will stand up to strong winds, especially side winds. Plus side, twenty odd quid and very light.

Anyone using them on here?

Do you mean these ones:

If so, I have just bought some paid £20 with free postage. Have not fitted them yet. But my mate uses them on his winter bike and he commutes 30 miles a day (round trip) plus his other training. Highly recommended by him, thats why I bought them.

You have a pannier rack and sound bothered about the mudguards being very light? doesnt add up
The Crud race are really destined for road bike with close tolerances and by using a Madone in the adverts to show that mudguards dont have to spoil the 'look' sometimes.
I have had a set of raceblades for a while and not going to change over as they pass the test.. my white Santini jersey.. filthy wet dirty road surface as today and not a mark on the back of jersey.
Also v easy to take off and on .. like 15 seconds when I am slow about it.
Ok, they cost more.

Those are the ones Addict!

LOL Spartacus. I know, I was just mentioning it - it might be valid for some. Mind you if I was that bothered about weight I wouldnt have the forks I do

Should I glue the guard tail bits together perchance? Tempted to. I'd leave the stays alone though obviously

Sorry to those getting the Groundhog Day effect but I posted this yesterday...

Norm]I just tried fitting a pair of Crud said:
(Specialized Secteur with 700x25c tyres)[/I'] this afternoon. 2 hours in and things are not looking good at the moment. Back to the LBS tomorrow.

And this morning...

I spent some more time trying to get the Cruds set up this morning, without success, so back to my LBS who could not have been more helpful.

He spent about 5 minutes playing then stood up with his verdict. "Nope," he said, "they won't work. I'm not happy with the clearance on the tyres, they don't sit right with those chainstays, we could make them work but it'll be a bodge. Get them off, I'll credit you for those and I'll order you in a pair which will work."

To be honest, they were rubbing but it wasn't that bad, no more drag than getting a leaf stuck in your brakes. I think they'd have been fine if I had gone down to 23 tyres but I like the 25s and I'd be more inclined to go bigger rather than smaller.

The chap did the right thing, though, kudos to Stows in Windsor.

Still havent fitted mine. I'll do it tomorrow (day off). Shouldnt be a problem, my mates bike has the same size wheels/tyres and his are fitted perfectly.

I put the race-blades on my secteur, but like norm says weren't great with the 25mm tyres so have gone down to 23mm 4 seasons now fitting great + have a much better tyre as well

Im going to fit my new tyre plus I found a new wheel hidden behind a door,so hopefully that should fix my gear problems on bike number 1.
Using number 2 tommorow.(again)
