I've just moved from London to St. Helens and started a new job on Monday. Today I cycled to work as that was my normal way of commuting in London. Wow, I had it so good in London when it came to commuting by bike.

Was a pretty hair raising ride and no cycle paths to be found or other cyclists. Over the next few weeks I hope to find better (quieter routes). At work I'm the only one who cycles in a company of 200+

Surely you had it so good because you knew you way around?

There's plenty of good routes in this neck of the woods.

 Don't ride down the East Lancs !
I see plenty of people cycling down the Lancs... on the cycle path

A friend took a wrong turn near the Lancs and ended up on Lord Derbys estate by mistake, fortunately he just waved at him from the back of his chauffeured car as he passed.

Up norf we have it pretty bad compared to London. The infrastructure is so much worse apart from in Manchester where it's pretty decent actually.

I just remembered that there is a perfectly good cycle path on the East Lancs, unfortunately I need to head south from there so its no use to me.

I only lived in London for a few years, and I've lived in Manchester for a couple of years but regrettably I hadn't caught the cycle commuting bug back then

Im on the opposite side near the M58, I work in Liverpool and commute on the old roads that people used to take before the 58 was built. Some of them are really nice to travel on this time of year, and quiet.

Aye, I actually have a colleague who lives in Skem, I've tried to get him to commute by bike but he says its too far

Im surprised really but every new route I ride I think takes a bit of learning of how it all works.

Like my Tower Bridge to Waterloo commute.
