Panter

Just call me Chris...
Really hungry riding in this morning, so I was very much looking forward to my breakfast when I got to work.
Had a very rare visit from the fairy this morning, just a few miles from my destination with a piece of flint that looked just like an axe head that had lodged in the tread and slowly hacked its way through the kevlar belt.
The roads were covered in muddy slime this morning, most of which transfered itself to me as I removed the wheel and tyre.
It took me ages to work out the reason that the pump didn't fit the valve, I'd obviously lent it to someone to inflate a shcrader the last time i used it...

Anyway, finally got going again, stomach really growling by now and finally got to work. Only to discover that I'd left my breakfast in the kitchen at home.
Hmmmm. Ok, I can get something from the sandwhich van when it comes round, only I can't as my Wife raided the last of the change in my wallet last night.

I wonder what my desk tastes like?

Not a good start to the day Panter but let's hope it gets better. I know we're all different but for me there is no way I would do my commute unless I'd had my breakfast first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's the rub you see, it's the first time I'd ever tried it!
I've been experimenting with having a very small bowl of oats before I left, and then having a bowlful when I arrived at work so I thought I'd try it with none this morning, that'll learn me!

Thing is, fat bloke+early morning start+hilly 16mile commute means I sometimes feel a little queezy when wheezing up those hills on a full stomach

I usually commute on empty here. Only 6 miles and I work for a catering firm so can always blag some grub if I get caught out. I struggle to eat first thing in the morning. Usually I can manage a small bowl of cerial or a bit of toast... anything else is a struggle.

Same here. I've never liked to eat soon after I wake up.

Sometime grab a banana or a couple of Shredded Wheat if I'm hungry, but usually wait until I get to work (8 miles)

I tend to smash down some cereal close to bed time the night before and then have a glass of water just before I head out (that's if I am doing the longer route 5 mile vs 1.5!). Then I will have some porridge at work - I have it stashed in my desk draw so I avoid the forgetting thing...

My ride to work was non eventful, day non eventful until lunchtime when i got a call from wife and had to head home to take her to hospital as a matter of urgency.

Making good time home in the p!shing rain and i get a puncture 2 miles from home

Thankfully got a lift home and took my good lady to hospital where she is now safely in a ward awaiting to be seen by the consultant in the morning, now to try and fix the puncture before morning commute or will i cheat and use anothe rbike for a few days

+1

I struggle to eat, I always feel like im forcing it down myself.

10 miles here fine, just make sure you get a nice big dinner the day before and you should be sorted.
