The spec and reviews look good and as it's the first new bike I've bought for about 10 years I'm quite excitedI'd been looking at a Specialized Langster but this frame set looks very similar, it's got better finishing kit and is a hundred quid cheaper..
I currently run 44x16 (72") on an old gas pipe 1980's frame and I'm not sure if 48x16 (79") might be a bit much even with the much lighter, stiffer frame so I've ordered a 17t (for a 74") sprocket just in case.
I'll still be using the old one as it's got full mudguards and I'll save this one for dry days when, hopefully I'll find it easier to stay with the geared boys on club runs.

Confused by the spec. Forks - Steel, Fork Material - Carbon with Aluminium steerer....

Also - hope the Aluminium rear triangle isn't too harsh for fixed riding.

Comes fitted with brakes, they just don't have them fitted in the picture for some reason, the Specialized website shows the Langster sans brakes too even though it comes with them as standard.

I've got an Eastway, a geared one, they're nice bikes.

Only taken it for a spin round the block but very pleased with it so far. It came with cross top levers which I swapped for some Shimano hooded ones I had knocking around. Will go for a proper ride tomorrow

Not 'arf! Each to their own & all that, but conventional wisdom has it that the best way to set your drops is to imagine a line drawn straight thru' the flat bottom section, and revolve the bars until that line would pass through the hole for the bolt that holds your back brakes. FWIW.

I haven't ridden single speed since I was in primary school a very long time ago, fixed for me.

When you first go fixed you do need to give it a fair amount of time to get used too, my leg speed was still getting faster after a year or more.
