The bang was so loud it nearly gave your aged mother a fatal heart attack, you say?

*checks diary for next opportunity to visit mother and fit in some cycling around her area*

When my Mother was a girl, she used to silently put a penny banger underneath my Great-grandmother's chair when she was sat down to afternoon tea in the parlour (she was a "respectable" old lady left over from Victorian times!) The result was that she would often throw the tea all over herself and then chase my Mother round the house while clutching a slipper.

Road or Mtb ?

I've done that to a Road tyre and god almighty it was loud, seriously made the missus jump (and myself ). It was about that time i was sentenced to life in the shed for bike repairs, though I'm sure it had nothing to with that incident

I only just spotted my tube bulging out of my tyre in the corridor at work the other week..... 120 PSI going off in an office.....Oh my..... just averted a bomb scare.

Had a tyre blow through the casing on a wet road before whilst on a club run, the sound was like a gun going off, then a 'mist' cloud coming from the spray off the road....

I did that to my kids with a football. It was a bit flat so I added a bit of air with my track pump at the same time as doing my bike. My daughter dropped the ball on the floor and BANG! The don't half make a racket when they burst, nearly as much noise as three crying daughters and an angrey wife

We were in a lovely hill top Italian village square about to have lunch when my wife noticed a slight bulge in the tyre wall. I said I would fix it after lunch - big mistake. It went off like a rifle shot with 120 psi while we were having a civilised lunch. The reaction of the people in the square was actually quite amusing. Shocked probably sums it up. So yes, in a house it would be somewhat louder.
