Beware PSA readings.
I had a reading of 16. Cancer territory. After a lot of sleepless nights and planning for my demise I ended up at the consultants for the finger test. Not enlarged they said, go away.
Stayed off caffiene, alcohol and the bike for a week and had another PSA test. 1.7! Go figure.

Man hope I don't live to be 80 years old, it's a horrible thought.
I've seen riders in their late 70s doing 11 hour hilly 200 km audax rides. My great uncle was still riding his bicycle aged 87. It doesn't have to be horrible.

Being 80 might not be something to actually look forward to... but riding a bike at 80 is a hell of a lot better than dying of something nasty aged 50!

John Cleese was on Look North this evening. He's 71 and has just got back into doing stand-up comedy. he said that he is really enjoying himself.

I reckon getting old beats the alternative!

Here for rides.
the aged P, 90 in two weeks, says similar. 'getting old is awful but, man alive, it beats the alternatives'

the 'awful' comes from his having been going progressively blind for over the last 10 years; he was dealing with it pretty well then his legs 'went' meaning he can no longer walk miles to the pub everyday! He survived prostate cancer, skin cancer; on his face too - nasty, and lung cancer, being sent down the pit at 14, being a paratrooper during ww2. all round hero in my eyes.

PC killed my f-i-l though in his 70's. it is a bit of a lottery.
