Any and every time I've had to mod one of your 'Nuts'-style posts.

If your so sensitive, perhaps you shouldn't be a Mod on a forum then Doc?

Greedo, as I said to you earlier this cycling stuff brings many people from many walks of life and backgrounds together. Most of us on here would not spare a glance to many others in the real world if we hadn't met on here first.

In reality, we don't all have to be best friends, those that are offended by your posts should avoid them and if they do stumble upon one and read it they should show restraint and not post stupid, pedantic and childish remarks... they are in theory adults with at least one redeeming trait (cycling).

"you're"

Mods deal with complaints. If we mod something, it's been complained about and discussed. Many of us don't want to happen upon girly pictures and laddish comments and jokes. Mostly, people can just ignore threads, but they have as much right to complain about content as anyone.

If Greedo is so tough and direct, then he should be able to deal with the idea of some people not agreeing with his taste. Or is it that it's ok for him to 'speak as he finds', but not other people?

I'm so glad Greedo loves himself so much, saves me having to...

No doubt you won't care and why should you, but to choose to read a thread you start, I'll have had to check the Tea thread, the rest of cafe (apart from your threads), then beginners, then commuting, then touring, then special interests, then cafe again and the same routine, and when I run out of things to reply to, I might look at one of your threads, unless I have some knitting to do.

I blame my upbringing, I'm just so discerning...

tea thread must be a bit slow at the minute then

The tea thread is fine thanks, but after 3 hours online of an evening, I often find I've outlasted those posters with better social lives/people at home to talk to.

As you did in your previous post? you must have been busy today, you say

Have you run out of wool?

Mods are mods because they were asked or they volunteered. Being a Mod you are going to be exposed to things people complain about (for example, offensive imagery/language), if you take it up yourself to then be offended and moan at Greedo then perhaps you shouldn't be a mod??

But Please don't moan about being a Mod for christs sake! you volunteered. It is our right to post what we would like to share with someone else, remember what some people see as offensive, to others its relatively harmless, sometimes funny, so they want to share it.

I'm not offended by the posts.
I'm offended that someone would choose to continue posting in a similar vein, despite having numerous posts deleted and having been asked politely and repeatedly to refrain.
I'm further offended by them then posting an 'explanation' that says 'This is how I am and I'm not going to change'.

Jeez, you are offended on all sorts of levels. Best go lie down... have a rest.

If people don't start threads forums don't work do they Crackle?

Yeah but Greedo could run his own forum

Seriously, no it doesn't matter how many threads someone starts, they fall and stand on their own merits and provided they conform to the forum norms and rules it's a matter for them. I don't begrudge Greedo his threads, I don't read them all and post in only a few but if others are entertained then all's well.

This is one of those threads that is going to stretch far beyond its remit if we're not careful.

The lessons are, IMHO, Greedo should try to be a little more considerate and thoughtful on occasion and the Mods shouldn't be over sensitive on our behalf.

Its Saturday night Rico, its not CC without a thread going too far beyond its remit.

I have been a 'disgruntled' respondee to more than one Greedo thread/post in the not too distant past.

But I can also see Greedo as a genuine asset to CC.

Sometimes we all go a bit far...sometimes we get it wrong....sometimes we don't appreciate how badly wrong we get it (Greedo this one is here mostly for your benefit  )...sometimes we need to chill out a bit...

:laugh::becool:

Let's apply a bit of love and understanding...
