Kalirab anyone? I had never heard of it before Friday.

A foreign woman I know has a veg/salad garden. On Friday she bought me an array of foods......tomatoes, cucumber, onions etc.
One item was (as per title) a Kalirab. Google tells me there are several variations to the spelling but it is, apparently, very nice either raw or diced and cooked in eg curry.
I was tempted to put it in today's curry but as its for the family I decided to hold back.
Anyone got experience with it/them ??

Kohlrabi!
A Cypriot chef introduced it to me many years ago, it's part of the brassica family, your cabbages, broccoli, sprouts and so on.
I have grown them successfully in my garden here in Glasgow.
In Cyprus they eat them raw dressed with salt.
Kohlrabi is nice when young, the older veg will be tough eaten raw.
I never had them cooked, probably nice in a sort of cabbagey way ^_^
