His portrayal of Batman was brilliant fun, and indeed rather good acting. Loved the show back in the day and maybe a box set purchase coming along. 88 is a reasonable innings. I dare say he was in other things too but his Batman is an enduring and joyfully silly legacy for generations to come.

Ah, that's a shame. I always liked watching the batman repeats on TV as a kid and keep meaning to buy the boxset. Enjoyed him as Mayor Adam West in Family Guy too. RIP

Sad news. I spent many a Saturday night in the mid 1960's wondering if Batman would survive that vat of custard or the stretching
rack,The Penguin or The Joker were torturing him with. Then watch Sunday's episode,to jump up and down when he escaped. At the time i wished he was my dad.
