...Mouseketeer* extraordinaire arallsopp who, among others will be tackling a trifling 1400 kilometres of cycling, starting about this time tomorrow.
A simple trip - head North, eat, sleep, turn around, head South...arrive back in London.
"Simples!"
Always up for a challenge, Andy will not take this one lying down - except that he's riding a recumbent. Keep your eyes out for him everyone - a jet propelled blur of carbon coloured rouleur, often seen muttering to imaginary characters who pop up alongside him en route...

So good luck Andy - look forward to reading about the figments of your imagination!
And good luck and safe journey to all of you having a crack at this one.

*Mouseketeer - "non-compass mentis"

Aye, good luck to him and Yello, I'm hoping to see them near Doncaster plus a couple of other friends nutters I know.

One will be easier to recognise than the other

Just been reading yacf and Arallsopp has got mechanical trouble
- his return idler has disintegrated?

He'll do well to finish from the sound of it and is using up cable ties very rapidly.

In the touring and expedition thread last night he was out by 17:00 yesterday. :wacko:I hope he managed to stumble on - all that extra curricular mapreading and mileage would have been in vain otherwise.

Edit: Just been for a look and...

...Hooooooooha! Update: Scraped through Thurlby on my last zip tie. Just rolled into Washingborough with an idler made from chewed up plastic and an old shoe. Pretty, it is not. Going, I still am!
Bike resplendent in normal clunkiness and wobbles. All that's missing now is red shorts and a tail.
Make it to morning, and I can see whether its fixable.
Next stop Wragby...
