Keeping an eye on my nuts...

After cycling most of the way to Leek with @400bhp and @Hacienda71 I noticed I was missing the wheel nut on my front wheel, no wonder the hills were a tad difficult, just glad I didn't snap my forks.

Limped my bike to Leek where Leek Bicycle Solutions furnished me with two new track nuts for £1.99, fitted both, and had a bit of a friendly chat.

You were lucky.
Its surprising what can work loose.I check fixings weekly(important ones)after i have given the chain its weekly mickle.
Once a month it all gets checked.It only takes 5 mins but i have piece of mind as the bikes are used daily.

When we were kids it was fun to slightly undo your mates front nuts (oh er missis) and watch the first time we jumped off a kerb to see if the front wheel dopped out and he would go over the handlebars, great days haha

That happened to me going over a ramp, and until I read your post I had never figured out how that might have happened!
