The rest if me is OK but when it's peeing down with rain like this evening my shoes turn into sponges. Surely there must be some way of keeping the rain off when riding!

Any suggestions?

Overshoes..... and some addition of waterproof pants if it's peeing down.

Recommend BBB Hardwear with Aqua Shield from Parker International.

Like to keep my shoes dry as it's expensive if they get soaked all the time and start stinking and rotting....

I should have said that it would need to be something I can wear over ordinary shoes/trainers. Can these

for instance be worn over normal shoes, and how easy are they to get on and off?

If you're wearing normal shoes (not clipless) then a proper pair of waterproof walking shoes does the trick and add on ankle high waterproof gaiters when the road's swamped to stop water getting in the top. They'll keep your feet a lot warmer as well.

They could be worn over normal shoes, but will wear out as the pedal will hit the parts those overshoes are not meant to........

I would have thought most of them could be worn over trainers anyway as my specialized tahos are more or less the same as a pair of trainers anyway.

Those Night Visions look like they may slip off at the back. I have a pair of dhb Amberley Overshoes I got cheap (£12.99) in a wiggle sale and they cover the sole apart from a small area at the front for spd's if you use them and a small area at the back on the heal so they stay on even if you are walking in them.

Do not expect dry feet with any neoprene overshoe unless coated, or cut up a corner of a good quality carrier bag to cover over your toe and top of shoe..... neoprene lets water in but keeps you warm...

PS Most overshoes look like that at the bottom.....TBH...........
