Nice frame, shame it's been bodged into it's present form.
For a start it was a 10/12 speed originally (probably a 10) with a double ring on the front and a 5 speed on the back (not the broken SA hub it has now) but that should be easy to restore/replace. The seat clamp is on backwards but it is holding up a very nice saddle that should restore well.
What plans have you got for it.

Looks a very decent frame, but some of the components are not up to that standard.
A quick look at the lugs suggest they might be Nervex, which is a sign of quality. The drop-outs also look good quality.
It would be nice to know what tubing the frame is made of. If you can get hold of a micrometer, measure the seat-pin diameter. The magic number is 27.2mm, which indicates the top quality double-butted 531. I would not be surprised to find it is 531, given the quality of the lugs and build.
Measure the OLN of the rear axle while you have the micrometer out. I expect 126, which means it was built for a 5 speed freewheel.

I was lucky enough to know Ken in the early seventies, he even used to give me lifts to some races, as my parents did not own a car.

Bike is really light. I think it's aluminium frame.

This was my local bike shop in the 1970s,had some very expensive bikes in his shop

Any value will be in the frame. You need to do the measuring I suggested to find out the quality of the frame. If it is 531 double butted forks and stays then you will have a frame of some value. The saddle looks like a Brooks B15 or 17. It might fetch 30 quid on Ebay, if it is.
