Mentioned we were seriously considering moving his school - 'oh that's up to you' - eh....?

Par for the course, I'm afraid. When WCMnr was younger he went through a period when he was badly bullied and we found out back then that schools find it much easier to sweep the problem under the carpet or make it so that it's the victim that has to move. It seems like nothing has changed over the years.

You have to be prepared to move your child or be a complete PITA (retaining composure at all times) to the head and governors of the school or the school will effectively do nothing and carry on doing nothing, even if nice words are promised. Be prepared to be loathed and denigrated by the staff at the school. It's not nice, but it's par for the course. Sadly.

I was bullied around that age, on the crap side, you don't forget it as it's formative years, but on the plus side, the none forgetting does actually force you to learn not to care what other people think of you and that no one has the right to make you feel crap again.

I had the same when I was at school however the culprit was the deputy head's son and no one believed me.

After several years :bravo: I flipped one lunch time and gave him such a pasting  neither he nor anyone else in the school ever gave me hassle again.

Unfortunatly despite this so called anti bullying policy nothing much has changed at schools. My lad (10) suffered last year and despite going to the head several times not much changed until my lad finally stood up for himself one break time.

Hope it works out for your Foss.

Cheers Waffly - looks like it's going the way of your last paragraph......

Oh heck...my wife's just confronted said bully's mum and nan........ both swear they hadn't been infront of the head before for the bullying problem.... ? My wife said this had been going on a long time..."our son..he wouldn't do that...."

Both were getting quite agressive and my wife pointed out that he's 10 next year and is legally culpable.....they then went off their heads, saying...'you are thretening us' etc etc.. oh dear.... she possibly shouldn't have said that...

My wife handled it calmly.... but she's now a bit of a wreck.

The kid is also not allowed to 'play' with my son at cubs - that's something I didn't know, I've only asked them to keep an eye on it, so it looks like the leader has put his foot down too.

Just need a couple of other parent's to back us up now.

I think it's going to kick off between us and the school and the bully's parents.....

Now there's a suprise ............. no wonder their child has issues bullying other kids. The parents are the source of their child's problems. The sort of people who wouldn't think twice of telling some one to feck off if politely asked to put their dog on a lead, to turn their music down a bit or not park their car in front of your driveway. Charming .

If your son is 10 are you at the point of choosing secondary schools - because if so have you thought which school the bully will move onto. With my second child I had to appeal to get her into the same school as her older sister and although it wasn't part of my appeal it did come up as one of the reasons I hadn't chosen a different school on my list of preferences.

I had the same problem too. I was horrifically bullied, which on a couple of occasions included hospital treatment and this was ignored by teachers, social workers and the doctors at the hospital who didn't believe what had happened.

One day, I flipped completely, just before the school nativity play:becool:, and took out the four bullies. No-one went near me after that. Cue the introduction by one parent to the world of Thai Boxing.:smile:

However, it still infuriates me that bullying still exists to this day and the same level of arse covering still exists. And we wonder why a bullying culture exists even in the UK adult workplace.

Very best of luck Foss as you will be dealing with a bunch of lilly livered arse coverers.

Only 6 days since the last one and the little **** has hit my son, as soon as the teachers turned their backs. End of school day, bully is out in cloakroom to collect his coat etc. and my son's table goes out last (HT said my son could go first to stop this trouble). Gets to cloakroom, lad shouts at him that my son is a liar etc, Son ignores him, goes back into class to collect his drink flask. Bully sneaks in after him and as my son turns round - punches him in the stomach.... no-one around.

Son leaves school and my wife picks up he's muttering to himself..... eventually finds out what's wrong and phones school when she gets home. The bully got a 'head teachers' award for 'playing nice' today...WTF.....

Back into school tomorrow, but we've decided to pull him out of class for the last two weeks of term (daughter still goes to the school) and get a doctors note - he doesn't need this crap.

Just not sure what to do now - new school or go back ? Emailed cubs to keep a close eye on the situation, but might have to move my son to another pack due to the trouble at school (I'm a Leader at the same pack, but for Beavers).

So much for following the sodding rules eh. We will be having a rant tomorrow.

The bully sounds a right Nelson. Bart wouldn't take that, he wouldn't get mad, he'd get even.

Have you not thought of your kid practising his martial arts self defence skills on this kid should he punch him again?

Does Fossy jnr have friends at the school he doesn't want to lose? If so it would seem a bit rough trying to find him another school just to avoid the bully. Every school has a bully/bullies so Fossy jnr could jump out of the frying pan into the fire.

How about ringing up the CTC's solicitors and getting them to spin off a letter to the school for personal injury and pyschiatric harm caused to your kid by the bully due to the schools clear failure of their duty of care to provide a safe environment and to look after your son while he is at school? It is not as if they don't know about the bully. They are on notice. How about contacting the police as from your account it sounds like a totally unprovoked attack?

Best of luck. Hopefully he will enjoy his few extra weeks of holiday.

I am so tempted to tell him to smash his face in, but my son knows that's wrong, but he may just have to. The head is a waste of time.

If it is in self defence it's not wrong. In reality this will stop the bully in his tracks. Just make sure he doesn't go bananas.

Only if he is actually capable of smashing the bully's face in, which he may not be if the bully is significantly bigger, stronger and/or generally harder.

It is foolish to go into a fight that you have no hope of winning.

So they're not even competent to follow the procedures they themselves put in place? And the classroom teacher is failing their duty of care by letting these two be in a room alone together.

Indeed, avoid until you have to or a response to an attack. But Fossyant hasn't given any info on the bully's size, whether he is a prize 5'6" bully. Anyway David and Goliath, not suggesting Fossyant Jnr takes a slingshot into school that would clearly be wrong as it would most definitely be a weapon. But surely fossyant jnr is entitled to protect himself if the school can't protect him from said bully. I can remember getting hit in the stomach as a kid and it hurt.

Well, we've pulled my son out of the school. Said bully is similar height to my son but skinny.

We went in with my son and he told his story, bully came in and 'couldn't remember' anything. Had to be 'prompted' by the Head to mention about the cloakroon incident, but said he went straight home.

My son was asked again, and said he was sure it was X (the bully)..... Head asked if it could be anyone else, and my son, now feeling pressured in front of X (the bully) said it might be kid Y. Y being the kid that kicked him in class.

X is small and skinny with dark hair, Y being tall and fat with blond hair...... easy mistake, don't think so ?

We've got 8 or so weeks to make our minds up now, but taking son to see doctor to get a sick note, and to have this logged medically as my son is very upset about this.

A good school ruined by teachers who resemble ostritches !
