Par for the course, I'm afraid. When WCMnr was younger he went through a period when he was badly bullied and we found out back then that schools find it much easier to sweep the problem under the carpet or make it so that it's the victim that has to move. It seems like nothing has changed over the years.
You have to be prepared to move your child or be a complete PITA (retaining composure at all times) to the head and governors of the school or the school will effectively do nothing and carry on doing nothing, even if nice words are promised. Be prepared to be loathed and denigrated by the staff at the school. It's not nice, but it's par for the course. Sadly.
