Kids bike brake help!

My wife came home with an Apollo Fire chief yesterday for my son. Bought it from a good friend for£30 I believe.

He loves it, but the was a brake lever reach issue and the front brakes were loose, so distant rubbed.

I fixed the reach, and went to tighten the brakes and the bolt sheared off...

I'm not sure how to reassemble it, or whether a new bolt is a thing I can get...

Are bolts generally standard between kids and adult bikes? Can i just saw off an appropriately sized coach bolt?

SJS cycles have the above pivot bolt. Need to check the length of yours and check with SJS cycles that it is the correct length.
Probably Halfords will stock similar.

The quotation in the page says their front is "slightly longer" than 72mm, and mine snapped at about 72mm, so maybe 80mm.

Hopefully that's it. Worst case scenario, I lose a mudguard. Also, presumably I need to buy myself things to justify the purchase ()
