Does one need an anti virus on the above. I get mixed reports on it so don't really know what to do. If it is needed, what is the best free one?
I think it would totally wrong to compare the kindle fire to an ipad. The kindle is predominantly an e - reader. I have no idea why people would buy it as an ipad alternative. ....the fact that you can get a kindle for just over £100 compared to an ipad at what £300-£400....A little off topic but I got the Fire HD last year, more or less as soon as it came out, and find it awful. We have a family iPad and the Fire isnt even in the same ball park when it comes to ease of use. It has become a large, expensive, colour screen ereader for me.

So why would it be in the same ball park ...?
I bought the Mrs a kindle for Xmas and she's read 11 books already.....totally addicted !
Don't get me wrong she's put a couple of apps on there but at the end of the day it's a digital book isn't it ????
