Thinking of getting the parents a tablet for Xmas. I might have asked a similar question before but couldn't find the thread.

I think my mum will use it for web surfing while my dad for solitaire and as an avid reader, perhaps books.

Happy to spend up to £200 and from what little I know, these seem to be among the better options? I have an iPad and see no benefit of one for them.

These are quite small screened. Is there a decent 10 incher in budget?

Cheers in advance

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I've heard good things about the hudl. A general good all round tablet, and it would be perfect for that type of thing. The kindle is more for doing the things you would do with your ipad. I'd go with the hudl.

I surf the net and play games on my iPad! Have iTunes playing in the background. What should I use it for!?

Hudl2, I got one a month or so ago and it's top class.

It's even better if you buy all your diesel for your company car at Tesco so you can get one for half the price in clubcard vouchers.

You can watch films, use yutube, have the BBC iplayer download songs etc. If your mum and dad just want it for reading or playing soltaire then the hudle would be fine. They don't want it for anything complicated, thats what I was geting at.

I don't have a company car and I certainly don't have a diesel!

I guess if they get into it they may use i player

This looks a good deal but I think a 10.1 screen may be better, so something like a galaxy.

I have a galaxy tab2 10.1 inch and I love it. I would def buy another one if something happened to it. Mine is 3 years old now and is still working perfectly.

Not so long ago Asda had the iPad mini , albeit the first generation, for £199, don't know if the offer is still going.

I had no idea there were fuel snobs.
Diesel stinks xx( There's nothing worse than being behind a diesel vehicle, in car or on bike

And I like my cars to accelerate immediately
