@steveindenmark , whilst I do have some sympathy with your point, do you only eat food from your immediate environs?

It doesn't matter where Steve's other food is from, it's still useful advice!

Anyway, this is my advice:

Whilst visiting family in New Zealand we sampled the home grown fruit (we camped adjacent to the Kiwi Fruit orchard) and bought a tray full, they tasted much better than the fruits we buy regularly in the UK probably grown in Italy.

We occasionally have them over this way, and they seem quite tasty, certainly not bland.
If you want to experience bland, try persimmons. They're completely devoid of any taste, but so overpoweringly sweet it's like ploughing your way through a bowl of sugar.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
I'm not a fan. I don't dislike them, and I'll eat any that make it onto my plate. But they are a bit meh.

Deliscious fruit, really good for you too, including the skin.

No. But I eat as much organic as possible and kiwi fruit are known for the amount of pesticides that are needed to grow them. I also find them quite pointless.

Dreadful made up by marketing and powered by smoke and mirrors.

Chinese gooseberry was never going to sell. Normal people hate gooseberries in any form.

Rename it, mess about biologically with it and get some dodgy science behind it.

A different colour? We could charge extra for that.

It's still foreign alien!

Get a decent bowl of porridge to start the day. None of this namby pamby foreign stuff. Our digestive system has been tuned over millions of years through eating what's locally available.

Fair enough, although from my research and understanding kiwis are consistently ranked by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) as one of the "Clean Fifteen" fruits, meaning they are among the least pesticide-contaminated produce available.

With regards pointless, whilst fully respecting personal opinion and all that, kiwis are a nutritional powerhouse, exceptionally rich in Vitamin C, fibre, antioxidants, and essential minerals like potassium.

By the way, I don't work for the Kiwi Marketing Board 😀

Fruit wise here in Scotland we would only eat apples, pears and plums, with the odd berry thrown in!
Anyway, even if you go out of your way, trying to find local produce to buy is not easy.

That's not a Kiwi, that's a wee Haggis :cry::cry::cry:
