Knife and fork - what hand?

I started using the fork on the right when I was a kid, and couldn't be persuaded otherwise. I'm ambidextrous, in case that's a factor.
As for being frowned upon for not doing it 'properly' - Get a life!

Really annoys my wife and her family, but I can't see why it matters to them.

This always causes arguments in our house

I'm right-handed for most things, but have always been, fork/spoon-in-right, knife-in-left
As far as I'm concerned I fed myself with my right hand

swmbo also right-handed eats the 'proper' way knife under control she says

I used to wear my watch on the right too, but I got told off by my FIL and was forced to swap to the left.

In polite society* the knife is held in the right hand**. Over the years I've very occasionally come across people who do it the other way around, but they are rare. Eating a meal opposite an American was an education with her cutting up everything small and changing the fork to her right hand. How they ever eat a fully hot meal I'll never know.
