Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
With a metal frame if there is no damage to the metal like a dent or the paint then I can't see what damage could be lurking.
I cracked my handlebars in a low speed low sided fall/slide on ice. No dent or anodising damage visible but they creak and don't hold air pressure when bunged up. Alloy can be quite brittle once its maximum is exceeded

I'm confused by the air pressure in handle bars - I've never known bungs seal the bars as temperature changes cause a difference of pressure, most bungs on bikes I've had have had a small hole in them. Surely if they sealed air tight you'd only ever get one bung in, putting the other in would fire the first one out.

my bars on my mountain bike have always creaked and never been damaged, changing the stem changed the creak

The problem appears to be the difficulty in proving that such an injury is the result of that accident, especially when imaging wasn't done at that time. Which is why getting thoroughly checked out at the time is important
