Just got the bike back from the LBS. The wheel, bars and gears straightened.. So the bike is all ok.

Glad you're OK and the bike

I was off on Saturday, lack of concentration in Richmond Park and took a tumble landing on my shoulder, luckily on soft grass. A little shook up, but all seemed OK, did a couple more laps, but next day very sore and lots of muscle aches.

You should get yourself checked out just in case.

Hello mate, yes I did see your post about your off.

Nah, I'm alright, just a little bruising. My off a while back was far worse.

Well done Ian, tons of respect for your attitude on this.

I hope I would have done exactly the same as you. I honestly believe that, in the long run taking people to court/insurers over every single act just makes all those who are honest (like your chap here) run to the hills and hide behind their insurers every time they do something wrong.

Far better to know that the chap learnt a really valuable lesson (both in the way in which he caused the incident ...and the result) which is that "honesty pays"

Alternatively, If he had got out of his motor and raised his voice even one decibel, I'm pretty sure you would have laid on the deck and called for a paramedic...I *Know* would!!

If you ever happen to have a small off in that neighborhood again (god forbid), my place is only a mile away and I always have plenty of tea in stock.

Hope you are ok Ian.Got to agree with previous post.^

He done the right thing by playing by the book, giving me his details, number, insurance etc, offering to drive out of his way to pay and for being a little bit more caring then the usual run of the mill driver.

Exactly how I felt the other week when I had that accident. Glad to hear you're ok.

Cheers all, Cheers for the offer of tea Jon.
I'm pretty sure I did the right thing as to not making him pay, and Jon you are indeed 100% correct. If he had had a whole different attitude.. I would have thrown the whole bleedin' book at him. His great attitude was the reason I didn't. However if it had meant I needed a brand new wheel... then he would have got a nice bill afor that.. but it didn't so he won't. For a few quid I have just had the bike sorted and nice quick bike service thrown in.. so that's not bad..

There's a lot of it about. Still, if you're going to get SMIDSYed, sounds like you got hit by the right guy! Glad you're relatively unscathed, Ian.
