La Toussuire 2019

Will be part of a group of middle aged cyclists who should know better staying in La Toussuire next July. I would be grateful if anyone who has been based there at that time of year could confirm or otherwise how open the place is in the summer, restaurants etc in the main. Having been based in Bourg d'Oisans last year I know that some ski- resorts like Alpe d'Huez and L2A are functioning year round. Thanks.

Well if Macron gets his way this will be the least of your worries. You will likely have to get a very expensive and difficult to obtain visa to enter France as we will have left the EU by this time. Then there will prices for locals, prices for EU members and prices for Brits. Is it a ski resort? Most are open in the summer for hikers and if snow remains on the high peaks for skiing.

Cheers. Yes it is a ski resort. I reckon we'll be OK getting over there despite Macron's posturing. That said, you can't blame them for playing hardball, after all we're leaving the club.
