I'm fairly sure Bahrain will be motivated to keep Træn in red for the rest day media circus, while nobody who wants to be wearing it in Madrid will want to take it off him. And I doubt that anyone is going to go hard enough on the 7-8% start of the climb to do all that much damage, so we should probably see another climbers lead out sprint.*

*Prepares himself mentally for the inevitable 60km solo win by a respectable GC rider

Shows what I know. And I missed it all 😅

Jonas admits he ballsed up and thought he was actually closer to the finish when they attacked!

26 secs at the finish not bad by João and pidders

You can imagine if Pogacar had attacked at the bottom it would be more like 2mins by the finish line. Good showing from Pidcock.
Felt sorry for Ciccone, he tried to follow but it killed him. He was on great form coming into the Vuelta.

If Jonas attacked a km later ciccone would have hung on

I'm almost eating humble pie about Pidders and the GC. Here's hoping he can sustain it

So stage 10 has an almost identical profile to stage 9.
The final climbs are almost identical too, with this one being a bit shorter, but a bit steeper. It still flattens out towards the top.
Odd they have chosen to produce twin stages either side of the rest day.
