Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
One thing that's clearly lacking is a decent nickname for Brennan. Anyone got one yet? Here's some starters for 10:
  • Darlington dragster, on account of his speed
  • Darlington express to tie it into the town's railway heritage
  • Dearth-quaker, tying the old town name of Dearthington to its Quaker roots.
Any more thoughts?

Darlo Dynamo?

Darlo Dynamo?

I was going to say - i think the locals all call it Darlo, which is much snappier for nickname purposes!

With respect, they are very different situations (and it's not just the skill, it's confidence/fear). I have (limited) experience of riding both. I've watched a lot of both.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree! Hayter ain't gonna change in a hurry, and he (most likely) won't have another chance to grab a GT Leader Jersey on a road stage, so it's all a bit moot.

(I do think we all like to criticise athletes for some "obvious" tactical failing, when we know darn well (inside) that we don't have any of their other abilities! See also: international footy players missing a pen ... )

Of course but I don't think you have to think you can do better to comment on how well you think a professional is doing their job. If a rugby full back can't take a high ball or make a one-on-one tackle it gets noticed and you would expect them to work on the weakness. I'm sh*t at DIY but if a professional tiler didn't get their tiles straight I'd probably mention it.

Nah the real words were:

WvA: Why did you chase me down, you rotter?
Pog: You know why. I have enormous beef.
WvA: That's a pretty corny reason.
Pog: I have enormous corny beef. And furthermore I intend to undermine you as a father figure by giving your son this pair of glasses.
Junior vA: Gaw blimey, fanks mister.
WvA: You unutterable swine.

It seems as if the first hour has been ridden at a steady, rather than rapid pace. Around 45kph.

Hayter in the break, looking for points at the intermediate / staying out of the scary peloton (delete as appropriate for your viewpoint)

Also Magnus Cort, which seems a touch optimistic for him if he's looking for a stage.

Also Oliver Le Gac, who I'm always surprised isn't a coke dealer

Some say I'm gullible - I say I'm an optimist, a dreamer even: is this the real dialogue?? There are some authentic touches in there.

(Some would say that Mr Trousers' version has ... less authenticity.)
