What do you recommend? I think my 3 year old muddy fox ones need replacing ! My poor little nunu this morning made me cut short my ride. Can't afford anything too expensive. Thanks x:wub:

I generally don't wear specific stuff (utility riding rather than leisure here!) but have some Terry things which I like. You could also try http://www.corinnedennis.co.uk/shorts.

Gore or Sportful for me...usually on sale from Sigma
Pearl Izumi decent too

Or just go to Decathlon, if there's one close, go for the 500 or 700 range

I loved my DHB Aeron Race, but they are discontinued.

Decathlon has a good range, and you can try them on to see what suits you.

I just bought these ones from sigma sport. They are ok; good for 80km or so. Which is a pity as I was on a 100km ride (ouch!) http://www.sigmasport.co.uk/item/Specialized/RBX-Sport-Womens-Short/7RJM

<refresh to see what been posted. Waves to @vickster as I have nearly written the same thing as her, and she found the sigma shorts for me>

I'm not keen on the gel pads on Altura, too nappy-ish and baggy. The non gel ones may be ok

I expect anything will be an improvement on muddy fox if the ones I've seen are anything to go by!

That's very much more to do with a person shape and the way they fit.

Before settling on Altura i tried numerous others and there were certainly a couple that i would have used that description on.

Indeed. OP needs to try before buy, may not be easy if in sticks though

Thanks for replies xxx as soon as pension goes in I'm off to decathlon, seen a couple on their site. Looked at some others that have been recommended, but cannot afford over 100 quid for shorts. Those days are far behind me now

These are £20. The lady at the shop was startled at how cheap they were when she rang them up. Very good for £20, if they have your size.

(but as you can walk into a decathlon, I'd start there.)
