Can I suggest you hop onto your bathroom scales with and without the bike, so you know if the bike you are looking at is actually lighter.

@Shortmember suggestion. Slicks on your current bike will improve things a lot. And should certainly take you up to 30 miles, and then you can make a more informed decision about your next bike.
Edit: Strawberry hill seems to be a nice bike, and I'm sure you could do 30 miles on it, but it's not really designed for that sort of riding. It's designed for city riding where you dress for the destination not the ride, with chain guards and a low cross bar so you can wear a skirt on it.
