Most guys send roses but i think maybe that is a bit common and girls just come to expect that?

Anything that doesn't make me sneeze! I get bad hayfever.

Roses are nice. Personally, I receive flowers so rarely (i.e. virtually never) that any type would be a nice surprise.

Not just a ladies question, I think. My good lady wife likes lilies of any sort. Lilies and roses are a nice combo.

I love lillies, of any sort. I buy them, always closed as they last so much longer this way. I like value for money

Once they open, I cut off the pollen stems from the middle as they drip and also drop pollen onto the carpet/table

Roses are lovely yes, but I find, no matter how much I read and follow the advice of looking after cut roses, they never last.

I have a rose named after me, for a bit of useless info. My dad used to be a rose grower at one time.

Campfire, has a rose named after her too

What does 'hand-tied' mean in the description of blazed's flowers? Someone puts a bit of string round the bunch, not too loose and not too tight? Well in that case, my shoelaces were hand-tied this morning.

Wilted carnations from the petrol garage are what the ladeez really crave

Interesting you say this; my wife doesn't approve of carnations wilted or not especially if the colour doesn't match the decor...my Mum liked them though. Nearly all other flowers are airfreighted these days; so the whole thing is going out of fashion.
