'Follow my challenge' have not yet reset the virtual Beaumont dot's position. It should have popped over to Lisbon as it reached the point where Lael stopped cycling; so now it should be about ninety miles into her Lisbon onward track, but it's still creeping towards Halifax.
I've sent them an enquiry as to whether they are going to do this, otherwise it'll be, at best, unhelpful and confusing, though the comparative distance travelled numbers will be correct of course.

I don't think it has. The virtual Beaumont dot is about 60 miles along the track from Lisbon. About eight hours ago, it was 20 miles short of Halifax, so it's travelled about 80 miles along Lael's original track in eight hours, which is 'correct' for an average speed of just under 10mph along the original track. i.e. it has not been updated to reflect the fact that it should be about 150 miles further on, given that Lael missed out 150 miles of her track.
What's even worse is that Lael's 'distance covered' metric is showing 2,066 miles right now, and she's about 66 miles out of Lisbon. Given that 2,000 miles was the whole track to Halifax, that number should be about 150 miles lower. Oops.
The tracker appears to be basing all the numbers and positions on the full, original track to Halifax, so it's wrong in an exciting variety of ways, including saying 'Ahead', when she isn't. How .... unhelpful :-\ Still, given that it's now all thoroughly wrong, that does greatly increase the likelihood that someone will fix it at 'Follow my challenge' ! All they need to do, I think, is remove the 150 miles section Lael didn't do and both dots will be correct again. Right now, in actual terms, I'm pretty sure Lael is roughly 130 miles behind the virtual Beaumont.
I'd be very happy to be proved wrong on the above !

She is now in Spain. 3 countries in 24 hours. I may get my Honda Super Cub out and ride down towards Hannover to cheer her on. I could take in a couple of lighthouses on ymthe way and zBergen Belsen on the way back. 😁

The virtual Beaumont is about 108 miles ahead of Lael at 0830-ish and her overall average moving speed is currently about 5mph faster than it. Soooo.... roughly 22 hours of moving time to catch up. That's a couple of elapsed days, but the VB gains about 70-80 miles each night, when Lael's not moving, so the actual time to catch up is more in the 4-5 days range. 'Quite challenging' ! Not that this being quite challenging is exactly a surprise of course.

3,200 miles to the next flight, so a couple of weeks: definitely enough time to catch up if she can maintain the differential :-)

Has anyone felt that the A**/K*** ride has seemed a bit ... trivial, since this one starting?!?
There isn't the same competitive element to it which I think has a bearing.
Meanwhile Lael's daily average is falling:
282/268/257/241/242/240/238/nk/233.
I think it's a big advantage having the last land leg a long one: Anchorage --> Chicago. Once she's on Terra Firma it's a much more straightforward calculation of what's needed with a lot of days to sneak in any required extra hours/miles and no airport delays/calculations.

Her average route speed is currently 9.17mph vs MB’s 9.51mph, behind by .34mph, not by much she has either got to speed up slightly or ride further each day to make up the miles.
