Lake Como

The wife has a notion to go to Lake Como next May/June time for a weeks holiday. I know the Giro di Lombardia takes place in that area so I assume there must be some good cycling.

Can anyone recommend some routes and if possible a place where I could hire a decent road bike? Probably going to staying in Lenno or Bellagio.

No info but there will be cycling routes - possibly tough and hilly!
I tried to hire a bike in the Dolomites a couple of years ago but couldn't get a road bike only an mtb. Mind you, the gearing was suitable!

This lot rent out touring/road bikes in N Italy, including Como (see map of rental locations) - not exactly cheap though!

Not done any cycling there, but stay across the lake from Bellagio. Beautiful place, saw loads of roadies on the Lake Road which is flat as you would expect. But plenty hills round there to get the heart pumping.
