Who is still using them? I have just cancelled my BT call anytime add-on as it was costing me £7.99 a month. We hardly ever use our landline phone now as my wife has free calls on her mobile and I make very few calls myself on the landline one so why pay extra?

Hardly ever these days. Last quarterly bill didn’t have a single call. I hate paying the ever increasing standing charge just so I can have broadband but there still doesn’t seem to be much option.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I very rarely use my landline anymore. The only calls i make are to my mum who is 97. Like Mo i hate the increase in charges that happen every year.

With BT, the last time I tried, you actually had to pay extra to have the phone component removed from a phone/broadband package. BTW, calls to Europe on our package typically cost £1.09 per minute. It makes people like toolani ( at 0.9p per minute ) look rather attractive.

We never use the landline for calling but we still receive quite a few calls on it mostly from elderly relatives and nuisance calls, the phone line is part of the ISP deal we don't pay for any calling package.

Comes with the B.B. package. I work from home partly, so useful to have and it’s a company expense anyhow.

My parents call me on it. They don’t use a mobile so it’s costly for them to call me on mine.

got rid of mine last month after years of being told it was cheaper for me to keep it . When you say i'm going to find another provider it suddenly becomes cheaper to lose it .

Like several others we have a landline simply because it appears to be an immovable fixture of the broadband package.

It get used once in a blue moon and the ringer was turned off long ago as the only people ringing it were ambulance chasers and Nigerian princes despite the number being registered with TPS.

We never get anywhere near the inclusive minutes (or texts) on our respective mobiles either.

I'm considering getting one! Currently have Virgin Fibre with no phone line.

But they're hiking the price by 10% as of October, so I've been looking elsewhere. It's actually cheaper to get a landline and broadband package than it is to get broadband only, even from Virgin. Will do what I did for 3 years before and pay for a phone line but not actually have a phone plugged in in the house, I wont use it and don't fancy more junk calls. At least they can be easily blocked on a mobile.
