A waste if time. Especially for city/town commuting cyclists. Yellow sodium street lighting will just negate it's effect as it does to hi-viz.

The laser won't be seen in daylight, and at night time, a far better warning would be a CREE T6 type lamp. I'm beginning to see a lot of these on the roads now.

Too many other competing stimuli in traffic at night, as well as interference from other light sources and too small an image to be noticed at speed. Yellow sodium street lighting is just the start of this problem, halogen headlamps and reflections on wet pave and the sort are a problem here as well. I think I agree with Linford, a good light is the most effective notice of approach, other things prove daft, touchy, or otherwise ineffective. Lights and a bell seem to cover the waterfront.
