Not an update, but for Admin purposes, this is who is left without a WT win so far this season, together with their highest level win so far

Team Picnic PostNL - no win
Team Jayco AlUla - 2.Pro
Soudal Quick-Step - 1 & 2 .Pro
Lotto Intermarché -2.Pro
Groupama - FDJ United - 1.Pro
Movistar Team - 2.Pro

There have been nine one-day races and six stage races at WT level so far
40 stages, 6 GCs and 9 one days - 55 possibilities for a WT win (tough there have been a couple of stage cancellations maybe?), shared equally that's 3 per WT team.

Meanwhile, the FDJ women's team have won the 3 of the "monuments" so far this season. Paris-Roubaix, de Ronde and Strade Bianche (I know, but it makes the stat fit)

Anyone but SD Worx has take a bit of a turn this season, hasn't it?

TBH - I'm not even sure the term "monuments" fits in women's cycling really. Sure Paris-Roubaix is a big race, bit it's not exactly got a long history for the women. Not going to object too much, because they need to have something to help market the sport, and fair play to them. Bit sad that e.g. Giro d'Italia Women - the pinnacle of women's cycling for 30 odd years - now gets second billing to The Tour Femmes though. I'm reminded of the fate of Doncaster Belles in women's football as the game became fully professionalised

Easy to forget that the Frankfurter mit pommes race was actually a WT chipper.

And just for fun, in the absence of Iain F and his chipper graphic, this Danish site - who have an extremely developed point system to judge rider prestige - could be our future guide.

It has categories A-D for both stage and one day races, with two categories of GT and a solo TdF category above that. Races are also weighted differently according to historical importance (so they change category over time)

I like it. Easy to follow and some really historical races get a nod as well.
I think they could do with an “E” category though, as there are more than a few lesser races missing.

I think that might damage the idea of having a PRESTIGE list

Any race smaller than Scheldeprijs / ToB is no longer actually prestigious enough to feature

1. These rankings always have a too strong bias towards GC riders.
2. I'm very surprised and impressed how high Valverde places in the rankings list.
3. Primoz has very successfully gamed the system with his Vuelta shenanigans. Would anyone consider his career better than Chris Froome's? He places higher.

I think it's not so much the Vuelta, after all Froome has a couple of those (albeit one weird retrospective) I think it's more an accumulation by Primoz of other stuff. Froome basically did GTs, warming up with Dauphine or Romandie and that's all. Roglic at least picked up some points just by being more active outside GTs.

I do agree it's a bit odd, but these systems tend to throw up things like that

Primoz having a better palmares than Froomey?
I'll die on that hill.
How's Froome's monument/one day race record look? Olympic gold medals? National titles? Ski jumping wins?
Froome was good at what he attempted, but his scope was super narrow.

Froome ski jumping is a worrying idea. I doubt it would end well.
