Hi.
Hope you've all had a great weekend. .
Sometimes I don't get the chance to get out on the bike in the weekend daylight hours, and sitting here now at 9pm at night watching the rubbish on the tv, I've got this irresistible urge to go out for a bike ride before turning into bed. Am I a sandwich short of a picnic lol:=) or do you "lady's and gentlemen" ever go out for a late evening ride :=)

Not at all - there is something special about a night ride, especially if you can get away from town and streetlights. Even better to switch your lights off and cycle by moonlight, if you can find somewhere safe to do it.

I often used to go out for a late evening ride after the small people had gone to bed.
Also had a bunch of mates that rode every Sunday evening 8 to 10pm.
Enjoy!

I usually finish w*rk at stupid o'clock. Home by 23:00 is early for me!
Occasionally, I pop out for a ride, but usually only if I've pre-fettled the bike, and got my kit ready. Mrs Pete doesn't even realise that I've gone.
Last night ride was to see the full moon shimmering across Pitsford Reservoir.
Once, I popped out at midnight when the clocks were going forward an hour just to see what happened on Strava at 01:00

I would rather very early morning than a late night, drinking and driving is a big thing around these parts, and the quiet lanes are the way home for a lot of these wasters.

I'm similar, prefer the early mornings but nothing to do with DD, probably just the body clock.

I'm not sure there are any less drunk drivers first thing in the morning. I think there's been a significant culture shift, and downing a few pints then driving home is a big no no compared to waking up after too little rest between drinking and driving the next morning. I'd say most drivers are more likely to drink driver the morning after rather than on the night but I've no figures to back that up

I used to enjoy evening rides in winter in the UK as it was often too icy for a morning ride.
Some of my fondest memories are riding on the rural lanes avoiding the main roads after dark.
Here I dont ride solo in the night very often as there's too much wildlife bouncing around to be travelling at speed even with decent lights.
