I'll sign up when you need pedestrian registration and insurance and not before. Oddly enough I do actually have insurance with 3rd party but I only have it incase my bike gets nicked. Wouldn't dream of giving my details to a car that crashed into me.

Does the debate go any further than ticking yes or no though?
With Transport for London figures showing one in four road users in the morning rush hour is a cyclist, should people on bikes have to obtain a licence and insurance?
Yes - cyclists should be treated the same as other road users
No - it would be unfair on cyclists or wouldn't work

I really hope that the article you linked isn't considered journalism, what a load of junk.

"should cyclists pay for the upkeep of the road" - this had me laughing my arse off, really shows how much research and thought was put into this article (that would be none).

In the same week as a cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run that tawdry rag is printing a load of old guff that unfairly slags off cyclists and claims they don't pay tax. Gutter journalism.

Since the link has been posted here - the anti-cycling vote has declined from 53% to 27%. The comments could mostly have been written by us. Bad article produces brilliant response. Result!

Total rubbish, no wonder no one would put their name to it.

Utter pathetic, we should licence Peds then, all people walking across roads need licence plates around their necks.
