I might do the 45 mile route ,its a fantastic route in lovely surroundings ,it takes in some decent climbs as well ,the ride up to the Bowland Knotts is double chevroned in parts.
Last time I rode over the Trough of Bowland - in the rain, which it does a lot - I was overtaken by the tail end of a time trial up there. It's a very lumpy part of the world. "Going backwards" doesn't come close.
Last year I decided I was going to do it this year, but have just been off the bike for too long to face that amount of hills - put back on to do list for next year!
