 What a surprise! Leipheimer goes to Bruyneel's new laboratory Astana.
Has anyone else noticed how many of the ex Disco boys are jumping into the lifeboat that has all the PREPARATION?

are you implying they wouldnt be getting the same results on a team with more thorough internal blood profiling like CSC or TMobile???!?

With the TDF out of the Pro Tour from 2008 cant see ASO sending Discana an invite. As has been previously suggested the easiest way to deal with Discana is not to grant them a Pro Licence for next year.

Don't be a silly boy, they are going there because they have been offered jobs.
That's what being a pro is. It's a job.
The clue is in the word PRO.
Get it now?

You are missing the point a Team that is viewed with suspicion by many is disbanded the key riders and Management subsequently start signing to a Team with an abysmal reputation and a proven history of doping. A cause for concern in a sport which is desperately trying to put its house in order.

but you could say that T-mobile has a history of doping and its still going strong.
I'm not seeing folk criticising Wiggins for joining a team that has a history of illegal activity.

Its very easy to knock some of the Disco boys (funnily enough none of them when with Disco) that have been caught up doing 'stuff' but Astana are just another team.
It wouldn't matter what team any cyclist join tbh. Most of the teams have had riders that have been caught or left them and been caught.

If Astana et al can 'fool' the testing regime then we need a more stringent testing regime.

If you follow the analogy of them being pro you might as well view it no more as sport but as business. While the rest of us are still concerned with sports the original poster is still valid.

Its encouraging that the British riders have gravitated towards a team that has bought in its own reasonably good internal drug testing recently

i think Disco have been fooling the testing regime for years, (which is why despite their success in the results for the last 8 or so years no one with money will touch them because its blatantly obvious whats been going on) unfortunately they will continue doing the same thing at astana until blood doping and hgh can be fully tested for. In the meantime hopefully ASO will
ensure they dont get invites to their events.
