Bless him.

He'll be 2 next week. Every evening when I come home I take him for a quick spin on the carrier. Yesterday he pointed and said "bike, bike" when I opened the door.

Lovely moment.

Excellent - my littlest has just turned 2 and when I hold my hand up to my head in a 'dorsal-fin-type-way' and ask her what it is, she shouts "Shark!" which amuses me no end.:biggrin:

She also recognises bikes and likes to point them out. ;)

Nice! My eldest when he was 2, was obsessed with airconditioning units and we would walk into Costco and he would point to the ceiling and say "Fan,Fan!"

Then he moved onto Buses, Steam Trains, Concorde, Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, etc. etc. Short term obsessions costing a minimum of £200 each. ;)

When nephew Oli (now 2 years, 2 months) first started to say 'bike', he said it with a sort of scouse accent - I can't quite type it, it had that catch in the baclk of the throat sound.

I go and visit in just over a week, taking his Islabike to him.;)

My Mum was there a week ago, and he pointed to a picture in a book and said, clear as anything, 'cucumber!'. My sister can't remember ever telling him that word!

When his Dad asked him where they should go for the day recently, he said "Daddy, Steam, Train, Alresford!", Alresford being their nearest steam railway station. Yes, he's got the train obsession too.

Kind of agree with you David. He was fixated on the other kids' pushalong bikes when we were camping earlier this year, so when funds permit we'll get him one.

Arch, how much did the Islabike cost?

A bike's something you can buy your children which they enjoy, and which you know isn't just healthy but with luck sets them on the way to something with long term health benefits, and may steer them away from the obesity 'epidemic'.
