Haven't they dropped the "no clipless" rule? Toeclips with proper slotted cleats in racing shoes are hilariously dangerous, since you have to plan all stops in advance to avoid toppling over.

The old gadgey who owned Rible back in the 70s and 80s wouldn’t sell racing shoes to anyone he didn’t know to be a racer or time triallist.

I have some retro looking Exustar 707s which I can use with SPDs or put the blanking plate back in and use with toeclips when I want to look suitable period attired (which is rarely). No racing slots so "withdrawal" is easy.

That is an advantage of it being exclusive! Don't tell anyone but I sometimes take the pedals with toeclips off, and put a pair of Look Keo's on and wear my tarty carbon soled shoes, with pink laces, no less. I bought them with the change from not forking out on a weekend camping pass.
I do quite like looking at other peoples old bikes though.....so its swings and roundabouts.

You rebel.😅

When I'm riding around the lanes of Hertfordshire on my old Galaxy or the Falcon, I imagine I'm riding the gravel roads of Tuscany. It works for me.

I have the perfect bike all ready to rock and roll so… someday I hope to, when and if life allows.
